Erik is a PhD candidate in Neuroscience at the University of Calgary specializing in Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Having a father who suffered a severe TBI and understanding the difficulty of the rehabilitation process, Erik wanted to get out of the lab and do what he could to facilitate the recovery of other individuals suffering from an acquired brain injury. Since May 2016, Erik has volunteered with numerous clients, gaining an understanding of the value that volunteers bring to the ARBI community and the integral role they play in making ARBI the success that it is.

Outside of the lab and ARBI, Erik is active in the graduate student community as President of the Hotchkiss Brain Institute Trainee Organization and keeps the University of Calgary campus safe as the Training Director of the University of Calgary Student Medical Response Team.
