CycleTherapy – Ride for ARBI: Recap

September 27, 2021 > Events, News

CycleTherapy is an annual ARBI fundraiser that started in 2012 with the motto Ride for Pleasure. Ride for Purpose. The funds raised through this memorable event enable ARBI to provide rehabilitation, community integration, and family support to survivors of brain injury and stroke.

This year, we had seven fundraising cyclists join the CycleTherapy 2021 – Ride for ARBI team. The event which was slated to take place on September 18th was moved to September 17th due to weather conditions—this is Alberta after all! The ride commenced just outside Banff, AB, where they cycled a challenging route to Lake Louise, AB, and back. Our dedicated team braved some cool winds and light rain while biking an incredible 100kms through the beautiful Bow Valley Parkway.

Our riders were not only committed cyclists but amazing fundraisers as well! ARBI’s CycleTherapy event has raised over $260,000 since 2012, with a fundraising goal of $30,000 set for this year. Thanks to our devoted riders and the generosity of our donors we have raised a remarkable $27,773 (and counting!).

A huge thank you goes out to our cyclists and our donors for another successful CycleTherapy fundraiser! Check out the video below to see how cycling on a recumbent bike has helped Len, an ARBI graduate, with his stroke recovery. Many ARBI clients over the years have had cycling become an important part of their rehabilitation. Your support and generosity will allow more brain injury and stroke survivors, like Len, access to the critical programs and services that ARBI provides. Thank you!
